Predicts Most Can't Tell the Difference

The "Think Outside the Bottle Campaign," which promotes tap water over bottled water is hosting a "water-tasting" at a northside Chicago restaurant Wednesday.

Chicago campaign spokeswoman Noelle Janka says she's predicting those participating won't be able to tell the difference between bottled water and tap water.

"Forty percent of bottled water is actually tap water, and by and large folks just can't tell the difference. They take the challenge and they can't figure it out, so it's kind of fun," Janka told WGN Radio news.

The group is working on a new initiative with restaurants in Chicago to try to phase out the use of bottled water and return to tap water for environmental reasons and to support the city's public water system.
