Many of the biggest problems our country and world face today –- global warming, financial crisis, unaffordable health care, a lack of safe drinking water -- can be traced to the power corporations hold over policy, our natural resources and our elected leaders. Through their economic might, political lobbying and advertising reach, transnational corporations consistently put public health and our quality of life at risk by putting short-term profits before people.
At Corporate Accountability International, we have a long tradition of successfully challenging corporations like GE, Nestlé, and Philip Morris to halt practices that threaten public health, the environment and our democracy.
Now we are continuing in that tradition by expanding our grassroots campaign work.
This spring we will be interviewing Regional Campaign Organizer candidates to lead our campaign to Challenge the Corporate Control of Water and our campaign to Challenge the Corporate Abuse of Our Food. The organizers will expand our national volunteer network, recruit coalition partners and deepen relationships with local media.
