The World Water Challenge

The World Water Challenge is a public education event to build support for protecting the human right to water. This event illustrates the growing corporate control of our water, and how communities can challenge the privatization of our water.

Right now one in six people—more than one billion of us—don’t have access to enough water. In less than 20 years (by 2025), the World Health Organization estimates that two-thirds of the world’s population will lack access to water. Communities around the world are challenging corporate control of water.

The World Water Challenge demonstrates the world’s water crisis, and inspires participants to think about and take action to protect water as a human right and to move toward ensuring everyone has access to safe, clean water.
