Rochester Franciscan Conference

What: The Rochester Franciscans are hosting “Thinking/Drinking Outside the Bottle: A Seminar on Water.” They are inviting Corporate Accountability International members from across Minnesota to learn about and confront global and local water problems as they strategize how to preserve the great gift of water.
Keynote speaker Zandra Rice, a national field organizer with Corporate Accountability International, will illustrate how corporations are contributing to the global water crisis and how communities around the world are organizing to protect water as a fundamental human right. Afternoon break-out sessions are led by water activists from Corporate Accountability International, Twin Cities Water Coalition, Coke-Pepsi Quit India and Clean Water Action Alliance of Minnesota.

The U.S. Social Forum, June 27 - July 1 in Atlanta, Georgia, provides space for building relationships across issues and organizations, inspiring activists to share experiences, analysis and strategies to realize a better world. Join the Right to Water Tent activities!
Wednesday, June 27th 1 pm - Opening March
Help prep water visibility for the Opening March and volunteer to be part of the Living River.
Thursday, June 28th – Saturday, June 30th
Participate in over a dozen water-related workshops, trainings and cultural activities.
Saturday, June 30th 10 am - Water is Life Water Ceremony
All persons are invited to take part. Bring a small sample of water from your homeland or home town. Ms. Josephine Mandamin of the Anishinabe Indigenous Nation will be facilitating the Water Ceremony, with the support of a Circle of Women. Join us in celebration of water!
More details available at the Right to Water Tent, located at the Side Civic Center Plaza. Meet in the tent at 9 AM each morning to learn about water discussions, cultural activities and volunteer opportunities.

Solar Fest - The New England Renewable Energy Fair in Vermont
When: 14-15 July, 2007
Where: Forget-me-Not Farm, Tinmouth, VT
What: In its 13th year, SolarFest has 2 days of great music on solar powered stages combined with educational opportunities and offers over 40 workshops on renewable energy and sustainable living as well as nearly 100 renewable energy and sustainable living exhibitors and vendors. The entire weekend festival is run on renewable energy, primarily solar with wind and bio-diesel in the mix.
Corporate Accountability International will be conducting Tap Water Challenges and various educational and fundraising activities throughout the weekend.
