Recruitment Organizer
Boston *New Position!

Corporate Accountability International is building our team of staff and we’re hiring a Recruitment Organizer to help develop and implement an outreach program to identify and hire top-notch organizers, fundraisers, researchers, and administrators, from entry-level to senior staff positions. The Recruitment Organizer will work closely with all of our Unit Directors and staff.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a dynamic program to find candidates for staff positions with Corporate Accountability
  • International through phone, in-person, on-line and print outreach and publicity.
  • Build connections within networks of environmental, and social and economic justice organizations.
  • Review, prioritize, screen and track candidate applications and résumés.
  • Draft and edit job descriptions.
  • Attend conferences and gatherings to identify and cultivate potential candidates and individuals who can help with recruitment searches.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date files, records, and systems.
  • Set up and coordinate schedules for new staff orientations, schedule candidate interviews, and provide support as needed to the Recruitment and Training Director.

Senior Organizer - International Policy
Washington D.C. *New Position!

The Senior Organizer for International Policy will lead organizing on our Campaign Challenging Big Tobacco by: cultivating NGO and government allies to advance the global tobacco treaty and protect it from tobacco industry interference, producing reports and other materials, and organizing at international meetings and conferences. This staff leader will also develop and implement international policy projects related to our Campaign Challenging Corporate Control of Water and strengthen relationships with the World Health Organization, other United Nations bodies and NGOs working on corporate accountability issues in these arenas.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build capacity of NGO leaders around the world to challenge tobacco transnational interference in the global tobacco treaty.
  • Monitor, document and expose tobacco transnational interference in the global tobacco treaty.
  • Produce accurate, sourced reports on key topics, as defined by campaign plans.
  • Organize at international meetings related to specific campaign objectives and corporate accountability measures in general.
  • Cultivate contacts and maintain correspondence with organizational allies, including government officials in key countries.
  • Monitor and analyze developments in the UN and WHO related to corporate accountability, water and tobacco.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of DC office.
  • Recruit, train and supervise interns.
  • Participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising and campaign activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability, with an international perspective.
  • At least five years experience as a full-time staff person in a progressive social change organization, including experience with international organizing.

Associate Development Director
Boston *New Position!

The Associate Development Director plays a lead role in Corporate Accountability International’s fundraising programs to fuel organizational expansion. With a history of significant campaign victories, the organization is in a strong position to expand. Our development unit focuses on maximizing net revenue from individual donors, national, international and religious foundations, events, direct mail and online outreach. The Associate Development Director recruits, manages and trains a team of major gift officers as well as securing significant gifts directly from individual donors and foundations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help develop and implement annual fundraising plans, budgets and monthly cash flow projections for Corporate Accountability International’s expansion.
  • Manage 2-4 development staff and the major gifts program.
  • Participate in cultivating, soliciting and growing Corporate Accountability International’s base of individual and foundation donors throughout the U.S. – in person, over the phone and in writing.
  • Work closely with the Development Director to drive organizational expansion, and long-range funding Strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records and systems.
  • Increase donor commitment and campaign participation through regular and sophisticated communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability, with a global perspective.
  • Minimum 4 years full-time non-profit experience, with proven track record in face-to-face fundraising (particularly major gifts and foundations), organizing, and strong staff and program management skills.
  • Proven ability to project and meet budgets in a growing organization.
  • Strategic planning savvy.

Senior Program Coordinator
for World Bank and Water
Boston/Washington D.C.  *New Position!

The Senior Program Coordinator will lead an organizing strategy to pressure the World Bank to change its policies on water privatization, as part of our Campaign Challenging Corporate Control of Water. The Senior Program Coordinator will identify advocates for public water services and systems, including economists; monitor and map World Bank structures and decisionmakers; and carry out tactics that will build the power necessary to change World Bank policies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit and mobilize powerful advocates for the World Bank to change its policies on water privatization.
  • Set, prepare for and hold dozens of in-person meetings with targeted people, including economists, academics, policymakers and other experts.
  • Develop tools to challenge the World Bank’s support of water privatization with targeted audiences.
  • Foster relations and coordinate strategy with allied groups.
  • Facilitate communication with Corporate Accountability International’s membership on issues related to the World Bank and corporate control of water.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of the World Bank and water privatization.
  • Regularly evaluate progress against campaign objectives, and help develop effective ongoing strategies and tactics.

  • Participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising and campaign activities.

SALARY RANGE: $39,000 - $50,000 depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
LOCATION: Campaign Headquarters, Boston – preferred location. Open to the possibility of a Senior Program Coordinator based in D.C. and commuting to Boston as needed.

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager ensures the development and  implementation of plans in regard to the management of Corporate Accountability International’s financial and information technology systems across the various units of the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the development and implementation of plans in specific areas of the finance and administration unit, including:
    • Overall functioning of the financial systems (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, audit, account reconciliations)
    • Monthly financial reporting
    • Grant budgets and financial reports
    • Annual budget preparation
  • Work with senior leadership, communications, development, and organizing units on various projects.
  • Participates in unit and organizational planning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least three years experience managing the financial systems of a progressive non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with workstations and network administration.

Foundations Officer
Boston *New Position!

The Foundations Officer will research, build relationships and write proposals to raise funds for our Think Outside the Bottle campaign to challenge corporate control over water. Working with our Development Director and other senior staff, the Foundations Officer also will play an integral role in coordinating and supporting the grant seeking work of our Foundations Team to support our work to stop abuses by agribusiness, tobacco, and oil corporations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research prospective foundation supporters and develop appropriate proposals for water, food, tobacco and oil industry campaigns.
  • Arrange and participate in cultivation meeting with current and prospective foundations.
  • Increase commitment and campaign participation of our funders through regular communication and involvement.
  • Ensure timely and effective planning and budgeting of foundation outreach program.
  • Secure pledged funds through timely follow-up and build relationships through ongoing communication and written reports.
  • Organize and lead meetings of the Foundations Team.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date files, records and systems.
  • Participate in planning and campaign activity. 
  • Involve Corporate Accountability International senior staff and Board of Directors in foundation outreach.
  • Participate in campaign activities and fundraising drives such as shareholder’s meetings, phone banks and campaign events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Internships with Corporate Accountability International

If you are looking an internship in a dynamic campaign atmosphere, you may be the right person for an exciting internship with Corporate Accountability International! Become an integral part of a dynamic team for equality, justice and effective social change.

Media Assistant, you will work primarily with the Press Officer.  The Media Assistant will conduct outreach to targeted local, regional and national media; track and monitor reporters and developments in campaign issues; write letters to the editor; prepare reports and involve activists at the local and national level.  Other responsibilities include incorporating new media forms into our campaign work, preparing press kits, and communicating with online outlets.  The Media Assistant will also help with overall administration of the media outreach program.

Online Organizing Assistant: you will work primarily with the Online Organizer.  Responsibilities include website editing, managing content and organizing on social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. Other responsibilities include internet research, database maintenance, graphics editing and overall assistance with administration of the online program.

Organizing Assistant: Our Field Organizers will work most closely with you as an Organizing Assistant. Your responsibilities will include organizing activists at the local, regional, national or international level, responding to requests for information, building our core of activists, systems development, design and layout of organizing materials, and outreach to targeted constituencies.

Development/Member Relations Assistant: You will work primarily with our Senior Development Administrator and fundraising team to organize and increase the support of members across the U.S.  Responsibilities will include conducting member service related outreach (including gift acknowledgements, welcome phone calls, and written correspondence), coordinating mailings, responding to membership requests for information, updating our member database and hard copy files, fundraising materials preparation, developing systems, and internet research.
